Beauty Pharm (also trading as Labspa) ("we", "us", "our") operates the website https://www.beautypharm.co.ke and a customer-service chat assistant on Facebook Messenger. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. We are based at Veteran Plaza, Moi Avenue, Nairobi, Kenya.
We handle personal data in accordance with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, and, where applicable, the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiries and provide customer support.
- To schedule, confirm and manage your appointments.
- To process and deliver your product orders.
- To operate our Messenger chat assistant and answer your questions.
- To improve our services, website and customer experience.
- To comply with legal obligations.
Our lawful bases are your consent, the performance of a contract (e.g. fulfilling a booking or order), and our legitimate interests in running and improving the business.
3. Our chat assistant and automated processing
Our Facebook Messenger assistant uses artificial intelligence provided by Anthropic (Claude) to understand your messages and generate helpful replies. The content of your conversation is sent to Anthropic solely to produce a response. Automated replies may occasionally be inaccurate — for anything important, please confirm with our team. The assistant does not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you; a human can always take over the conversation.
4. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, under appropriate safeguards:
- Meta Platforms (Facebook/Messenger) — to deliver and receive chat messages.
- Anthropic PBC (USA) — to power the AI chat assistant (see Section 3).
- Brevo (Brevo SAS) (France) — to send appointment confirmations, contact replies, and internal team notifications by email.
- Our website & application hosting provider — to host our website, database, and chat service.
- Google reCAPTCHA & Google Analytics — for spam protection and website analytics.
- Authorities — where required by law.
5. Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above. Messenger conversation history is limited to your most recent messages and is automatically trimmed. Booking and order records are retained as needed for our operations and legal obligations. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 7).
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including secure transmission (HTTPS) and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data ("right to erasure").
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent.
- Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (Kenya).

8. Cookies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for functionality and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some features.

Our services are not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us for removal.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version, which will always be available on this page.
